'Where is the shock and awe?'
US disturbed by weak Israeli offensive

US defense analysts have expressed concern and disappointment over Israel's failure to deal a crushing blow to Hizb'allah, reported World Tribune.
They said the strategy of Israel's aerial campaign appears to be to erode Hizb'allah's capabilities, rather than shatter its command structure and end its ability to make war.
Said one analyst:
"There's no shock and awe here. Hizb'allah has been hurt but has managed to continue."
The analysts said Israel seems to be following the model of NATO's bombing campaign against the regime of Serbian leader Slobodan Milosovic in 1999, which after 78 days resulted in Milosovic agreeing to a ceasefire and turning himself over to international prosecution.
The same is not going to work for Israel in Lebanon, said another analyst.
"I can't see this as a successful strategy. In Yugoslavia, NATO had all the time in the world. Israel can't count on more than two weeks."
