Report: Israel may free 800 terrorists for Shalit

According to media reports, Israel is prepared to release up to 800 jailed "Palestinians" in return for abducted IDF Corporal Gilad Shalit, who has been in captivity in Gaza since June 25.

Egyptian officials said talks over a prisoner exchange with the Hamas-affiliated terrorists who nabbed Shalit have been going on for weeks, despite Israel's public declarations that it would not negotiate with the terrorists or succumb to blackmail.
