IDF mulls broad Gaza offensive
Source: The Jerusalem Post
October 01, 2006
With Kassam rocket attacks from northern Gaza continuing, IDF chief Dan Halutz said Sunday that the army is seriously considering launching a large-scale ground offensive into the coastal strip.
Halutz said Israel has to find a military solution to the daily rocket attacks, which have miraculously not killed anyone for some time. Though many Israelis have been wounded lately.
Defense officials have warned that the "Palestinians" are smuggling huge quantities of explosives and anti-tank weapons into Gaza, and that at major offensive is needed now to destroy the threat before it reaches Hizb'allah levels.
