If Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olert thinks he is going to get off scot free for the mistakes many Israelis believe he and his gvernment made in the war last July, he is sadly mistaken.
This, at least, is the goal of more than 2,000 Israeli citizens from both sides of the political spectrum who demonstrated with banners and flaming torches outside Olmert's official residence Thursday evening.
They represented a large percentage of the public who reject the Olmert-appointed Winograd Commission and insist on a full state inquiry taking place.
"We send real children to be killed in war and we want a real commission of inquiry," demanded the mayor of S'derot, Eli Moyal.
Moyal's Negev town has been under almost daily rocket attack from the Palestinian-controlled Gaza Strip for more than a year.
