High-quality explosive smuggling foiled at Karni
By The Jerusalem Post
October 26, 2006
"Poor Palestinians" in Gaza again took advantange of the Karni Crossing, through which vital food and medical supplies reach the PA-controlled stretch of land, by trying to smuggle explosives "into" Israel to kill Jews.
Their latest attempt, to bring six kilograms of high-quality explosive through for an attack in a central Israeli city, was thwarted Wednesday.
However, the amount of explosives and weaponry that is not intercepted, as the Palestinian Arabs remain more intent on murdering Israelis than feeding their own families, is unknown.
Attempts to get material for terrorist attacks through Karni have forced Israel to shut down the crossing a number of times, provoking immediate and furious outrage from the European Union and United Nations.
Neither of these anti-Israel organizations, however, have condemned the Palestinian Authority for not preventing the abuse of the crossing.
In fact, the PA encourages the smuggling efforts and remains openly supportive of terrorist attacks against Jews.
