Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Friday expressed his frustration at the world's lack of serious effort to confront and deal with Iran's dark nuclear ambitions.
Speaking at a ceremony to show appreciation for a $25 million gift from American billionaire Sheldon Adelson to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum, Olmert said the international community was doing virtually nothing to counter the Iranian belligerence.
The threats emanating from Tehran to wipe Israel off the face of the earth were reminiscent of the those heard increasingly directed towards Europe's Jews in the 1930s.
Addressing the gathering, Adelson's wife, whose parents lost nearly all their family members in the Holocaust, voiced a fear that is growing in the hearts of an increasing number of Jews in Israel today.
"I didn't think it can happen again. My feeling today is that it can happen again."
