Rice: Better to have Hamas in power than in streets

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice stated Monday that she would rather see Hamas in power and accountable to voters than running around engaging in terrorist activity.

She said that as the new "Palestinian" government, Hamas was now occupied with trying to figure out how to better the lives of its constituents.

Rice apparently believes that Hamas is unable to both control the PA and kill Jews, which would seem somewhat naive since Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah has been doing so for more than a decade.
