Arab states to end financial boycott of Hamas

Angered by America's veto of a hostile UN resolution condemning Israel, Arab states announced on Sunday that they would no longer cooperate with the financial boycott of the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority.
The decision came at an emergency meeting of the Arab League in Cairo, which was called after the US voted down an Arab-authored UN Security Council resolution that strongly condemned Israel over its accidental killing of 19 "Palestinians" last week.
Washington and its "allies" imposed sanctions on the PA after Hamas took power in March. The Bush administration maintains that the embargo is having the desired effect of weakening public support for the terror group.
But with Arab states reinstating economic relations with the PA, the US-led measures are expected to lose their bite.
