An Israeli factory worker critically wounded in a "Palestinian" missile attack on the southern town of Sderot Tuesday died of his wounds overnight.
Yaakov Yaakobov, 43, sustained shrapnel wounds to his head and most of his body when a missile fired by Palestinian Arab terrorists operating out of northern Gaza crashed into the chicken slaughtering factory he worked at.
Yaakobov was unable to reach the factory's protected area in time after hearing Sderot's "Red Dawn" warning system go off. Residents have only about 20 seconds to reach protected areas after a "Palestinian" missile launch is detected.
Despite intense efforts to save his life at Beersheva's Soroka Medical Center, doctors said the injuries to Yaakobov's head ultimately prevented any kind of major surgery.
Yaakobov, who immigrated to Israel from the former Soviet Union 12 years ago, leaves behind a wife and two young children.
