Baltimore boy becomes Israeli paratrooper

Despite the sense freqently conveyed from across the oocean that most of America's Jews are really ashamed of Israel and wish she would quietly disappear, there are still some Zionists in the United States.
That is to say, there are some Zionists raised in the United States who are no longer there; they have made aliyah and Israel is their new home.
Twenty-one year old Scott Blumberg left the comfort and safety of the Baltimore home where he grew up, said goodbye to his parents and most of his friends, and flew thousands of miles to the east of the giant United States to fight and, if need be, die for the little State of Israel.
Raised a Zionist, he knows that his first allegiance as a Jew is to the Jewish state and his fellow Jews who are fighting to survive in their ancient homeland.
Today he is training to be a member of an elite paratrooper unit. And he loves what he has chosen to do.
