Report: Secret gov't unit monitored anti-"disengagement" protestors
Source: IsraelJustice.com
January 22, 2007
The Israeli government reportedly established a secret unit in 2005 to monitor opposition to the uprooting of Jews from parts of the Land of Israel.
This unit is believed to be operational still, and its methods have apparently also been adopted by other arms of the government.
Ostensibly its purpose was to identify "disengagement" opponents who cross the "thin line" between legitimate civil disobedience and incitement or sedition.
Those who did were prosecuted - a total of 700 people over the last year.
