Guess who?s rooting for John Kerry?

Senator John Kerry is the candidate PLO mass murderer Yasser Arafat would most like to see behind the desk of the Oval Office following November’s US presidential election, Israel’s military intelligence chief said Sunday.

"Arafat is now waiting for the month of November in the hope that President [George W.] Bush will be defeated in the presidential elections and turned out of his office," Major General Aharon Ze’evi told cabinet ministers during their weekly gathering.

The anarchy currently gripping the PA-controlled territories is seen as the outward manifestation of Arafat’s stalling tactic. The PLO chief has traditionally thrived on chaos, and may now be using it to avoid implementing the reforms demanded by the West until after Bush’s hoped for defeat.

Kerry has, as part of his campaign platform, vowed to work for Israel’s security and promote new “Palestinian” leadership.

But his statements, according to Ze’evi’s assessment, are being taken with a grain of salt among the Palestinians Arabs. Many in the region believe that once in office, Kerry will adopt the more conciliatory approach of Bill Clinton.

Arafat is also hopeful that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will be ousted prior to November.

Sharon’s downfall, coupled with Kerry’s victory, would allow Arafat “to return to center stage and become more significant,” Ze’evi said.
