Backing terror is policy for Hamas
Group demands Abbas apologize for straying from gov't line

For the new Hamas leaders of the Palestinian Authority, supporting the terrorist murder of Israeli Jews is a matter of policy, and for PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas to stray from that policy is unacceptable and requires an official apology.
Following the slaughter of nine Israelis and the wounding of at least 60 others in a "suicide" bomb attack in Tel Aviv Monday, PA Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh endorsed the massacre as a legitimate act of "self defense" in the face of purported Israeli aggression.
Abbas, however, denounced the attack for the harm it had done to the "Palestinian" cause.
A group of terrorists representing several of the top "Palestinian" terror organizations, including Hamas and Abbas' own Fatah, issued a statement in response noting that the Palestinian Arab public had overwhelmingly elected Hamas and supports its terrorist policies, and that for Abbas make contradictory remarks was an afront to his people.
"We ask President Abbas to apologize to the entire Palestinian people because of the offense he committed."
The statement said Abbas had insulted the "martyrs who sacrificed their lives and souls" to send Jewish men, women and children to their graves.
