After terror attack, Hamas and Fatah agree to ceasefire

After killing 34 of their own people in five days of bloodshed, Hamas and Fatah agreed early Tuesday morning to a ceasefire.
The arrangement initially faltered after sporadic fighting continued, but appeared to take hold as the sun rose over the battered Gaza Strip.
Its terms dictate that all fighters will keep off the streets, and kidnappers will release those they took from the other side.
Some observers wondered whether a successful "suicide" bombing carried out in Eilat and jointly launched by Hamas and Fatah members may have created the atmosphere for a cessastion of civil strife.
Gaza's Arabs were waiting to see Tuesday whether Israe would retaliate by attacking the Strip. In that event solidarity, rather than in-fighting, was what both Fatah and Hamas would want to see.
