Egypt says it's doing enough to prevent Gaza arms flow

Egyptian officials on Sunday dismissed Israeli criticism that Egypt is not doing enough to prevent the flow of terrorist arms through its territory and into the Gaza Strip.
An unnamed official claimed Cairo was effectively patrolling the border, and insisted that the Israeli complaints were nothing more than an effort to undermine Egypt's role as a peace broker.
According to Israeli defense officials, vast quantities of explosives, rockets and small arms have been smuggled into Gaza since Israel handed control of the border over to Egypt and the Palestinian Authority in September 2005.
They warn that if the smuggling continues, Gaza will soon be as heavily armed as Hizb'allah-controlled southern Lebanon was before last summer.
