Palestinians begin work on new terrorist-led cabinet

The government of Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh resigned on Thursday night to make way for a new power-sharing government including both Haniyeh's Hamas and the Fatah faction of PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas.
Following the resignation, Abbas immediately tasked Haniyeh with forming the new government, in which the latter will still serve as prime minister.
According to a deal reached between Abbas and Haniyeh last week in Mecca, key portfolios such as finance and foreign affairs will go to independent candidates, while Hamas and Fatah split the rest.
Hamas officials have already announced that those ministries controlled by their movement will continue to resisit peace and seek the demise of the Jewish state.
However, the fact that half of the government is controlled by the so-called "moderates" in Fatah is expected to be enough to cause the international community to strongarm Israel into restarting negotiations and making land concessions.
