Cocky Abbas: Like our government, or lump it

PLO and Palestinian Authority (PA) chief Mahmoud Abbas said at the weekend the world will have no choice but to live with the new Hamas-PLO terrorist coalition currently being formed.

Abbas, who has seen the international community brought round to recognize and universally support the violence-forged bogus “Palestinian” claim to a state on Jewish lands, appeared confident that this latest reality, too, would be first accepted, and ultimately championed, by the gentile nations.

He reportedly plans to put his demands to US Secretary of State Condoleezza when she visits the Middle East this week.

For its part the United States, along with the three other members of the so-called Quartet – the United Nations, European Union and Russia – continue to insist that the PA-in-the-making recognize Israel, renounce violence and honor all past agreements between the Jewish state and the PLO.

According to the agreement reached between Abbas and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Mecca earlier this month, none of these conditions will be met.
