US has Iran attack plans in place - BBC

According to diplomatic sources cited by the BBC, the US has already drawn up plans for a major bombing campaign against Iran that would target far more than just the country's nuclear facilities.

Strikes by long-range American bombers and guided missiles would look to also destroy Iran's air and naval bases, missile facilities and its command-and-control centers.

Washington insists that it is not actively planning to go to war with Iran, and is still relying on diplomatic efforts to end the current nuclear crisis.

But the unnamed sources who reportedly spoke to the BBC said the US Central Command has already chosen its target sets in Iran, just in case one or both of two things happens:

1. Evidence comes to light that Iran is in fact developing nuclear weapons;
2. Iran is positively implicated in a high-casualty attack on US forces in Iraq.
