Israelis long to be part of Europe

Despite widespread hostile feelings toward the Jewish state, the overwhelming majority of Israelis long to be part of the European Union, according to the results of a new poll.
Seventy-five percent of Israeli respondents polled by a German political foundation this week said that if offered, they would vote for Israel to join the EU.
Equally worrying was that 11 percent of respondents said that if granted EU citizenship, they would abandon the Jewish state immediately.
Unsurprisingly, France won low marks in the poll, though Germany, the nation responsible for the Nazi Holocaust, was given a thumbs up by 67 percent of the Israelis.
The favorite European destination for Israelis? Britain - the country being overrun by Islam faster than any of its neighbors, and the nation pushing hardest to give the Jews' biblical heartland.
