Israel nails leading Jihad chief in Jenin

Israeli troops operating undercover in the northern Samaria town of Jenin Wednesday morning eliminated a top local Islamic Jihad terrorist commander and two of his accomplices.
"Palestinian" sources claimed that the Israelis ambushed and executed the terrorists while they sat in a parked vehicle.
But IDF spokesmen said the soldiers tried to arrest the wanted terror boss before being fired on by the "Palestinians." The three were killed in the ensuing gun battle.
Backing up the Israeli version of events was the fact that one Israeli officer was lightly wounded by enemy gunfire during the operation.
Jenin is a major center of "Palestinian" terrorist activity. A would-be homicide bomber that was captured last week in Tel Aviv was dispatched from Jenin by Islamic Jihad.
