Iran training Hamas forces, says security chief

Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) chief Yuval Diskin revealed on Monday that in addition to financial aid, Iran is supporting the ruling "Palestinian" faction Hamas by providing its forces with advanced training.

Diskin said the increasing numbers of Hamas terrorists are making the journey to Iran to learn advanced fighting techniques and how to build better bombs and missiles.

Diskin was optimistic that the power-sharing agreement between Hamas and PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah will not last, because Hamas wants to deal with Israel in its own way, rather than the slow diplomatic assault preferred by Abbas.

Diskin reiterated his belief that sooner or later, Israel is going to have to militarily destroy Hamas' power base in the Gaza Strip.
