Lebanon war triggered baby boom in Israel

Last summer's war against Lebanon's Hizb'allah has triggered a baby boom in Israel.
Figures published on Monday showed a 35 percent increase in the number of women now in their fifth, sixth or seventh month of pregnancy compared to last year.
Past wars have resulted in similar exploding birth rates. Following the 1967 Six Day War and the 1973 Yom Kippur War, Israel experienced baby booms that lasted for years.
Gila Bronner, director of the Sexual Health Service at Sheba Medical Center, said the news should send a clear signal to Israel's enemies:
"We want to tell the world, 'You tried to kill us, but you didn't - see, we're alive!'"
