Hamas needs money, so offers truce

Hamas is offering to temporarily halt its campaign of terror so that Israel can help it get more money out of the international community.
On Tuesday, a senior unnamed Hamas official told Ha'aretz that the Palestinians will cease all efforts to kill Israeli Jews if Jerusalem agrees to go to bad for the terror group with the international community.
Just to be clear, Hamas did not offer to renounce terrorism as a means of achieving its goals, or to recognize Israel's right to exist.
But it does want the "illegitimate Zionist regime" to help it survive financially by convincing Washington and Europe that it is now a moderate group of peaceniks that they should throw their money at.
Israel responded on Wednesday by saying that before it will consider anything of the sort, Hamas has to prove that it even can implement a ceasefire.
