Hamas commander killed as Gaza violence persists

A senior Hamas commander was shot dead on Tuesday as internecine violence between the group and its rivals in PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah continues unabated in Gaza.

That despite the fact that the two dominant factions concluded a power-sharing agreement more than three weeks ago.

Hamas vowed to avenge the latest killing, guaranteeing that the cycle of violence is not about to end.
