Terrorists: Defeatist policies encourage us

Jailed Hamas terrorists told the authors of a new book that the defeatist policies of Israel’s leftist “peace” camp, and the national discord those policies engendered were a great encouragement for anti-Jewish “Palestinian” terror.
Written by left-wing journalists Avi Yissacharov and Amos Harel, “The Seventh War” notes that the general consensus among “Palestinian” terror chiefs is that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s plan to retreat from Gaza is the culmination of their violent efforts.
"The disengagement from Gaza is proof of our victory. The fact that Sharon is willing to withdraw unconditionally is basically equivalent to raising a white flag and retreating. Only by force are we able to teach the other side what to do,” the imprisoned killers stated.
Meanwhile, a publicized right-wing call for Israel’s security forces to refuse orders to evacuate Jewish settlers called Sharon’s plan an “evil decree aimed at revoking the rights of Jews to live in their homeland.”
Leftist encouragement
"The Israeli left-wing and your 'peace-camp' are what ultimately encouraged us to continue to carry out suicide bombings,” a jailed Hamas terrorist told Yissacharov and Harel during a series of interviews conducted for “The Seventh War.”
The terrorist said the original goal of the bombings was to “create fragmentation and dissension within Israeli society, and the left wing encouraged us in that regard.”
Together with the Clinton White House, Israel’s Labor dominated government sought to appease the forces of “Palestinian” terror by giving in to at lease some of their demands and handing over areas of land promised to the Jewish people both by God and the international community.
But a decade of PLO noncompliance with the Oslo Accords, and the continued terrorist murder of Jewish men, women and children has convinced most Israelis that the past land concessions only buoyed the terrorists’ resolve.
Sharon’s capitulation
It was precisely the idea of conducting further withdrawals that was rejected by the Israeli public when it overwhelmingly chose Ariel Sharon to lead the nation over Labor chief Amram Mitzna in February 2001.
That unrelenting “Palestinian” terror has resulted in Sharon now championing Mitzna’s platform of unilaterally quitting Gaza and northern Samaria is icing on the cake for the “Palestinians,” Yissacharov said on Israel’s Channel One News.
They see it as “proof” of their victory over the Jewish state, the veteran Israel Radio reporter said.
Yissacharov’s assessment is substantiated by a memo recently written by current Gaza-based Hamas leader, Mahmoud Al-Zahar, and obtained by WorldNetDaily.
"The withdrawal is an achievement for our people and for the intifada and is considered the result of the victims they sacrificed,” the terror chief writes.
Al-Zahar confirms that Hamas will not “relinquish” the “right” to murder Israeli Jews following Israel’s retreat.
‘Evil decree’
The retreat plan is an “evil decree aimed at revoking the rights of Jews to live in their homeland,” declared 185 leading Israeli public figures in a petition published in the magazine Sheva on Thursday.
The petition argued that the “expulsion and uprooting of settlements are a crime against humanity,” and called on soldiers and police officers to refuse any orders to forcibly transfer Jews from their homes.
“We tell those officials who were instructed to prepare the infrastructure for ethnically cleansing the Jews from their homeland and to all the officers, soldiers and policemen to listen to their inner conscience and not take part in acts they would regret for the rest of their lives.”
The petition was signed by, among others, the father and brother of Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
