Israeli security forces Friday arrested a Palestinian Arab who had been trained by the Lebanese Hizb’allah organization to carry out terrorist attacks against Israeli Jews.
Two other suspects were also arrested, one a member of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah Tanzim terrorist group, the other a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
One Arab man was wounded when IDF troops fired on a car trying to flee the scene with five passengers on board.
In another anti-terrorism operation, IDF soldiers Saturday arrested the founder of Hamas’ “West Bank” armed wing near Ramallah, just north of Jerusalem.
Saleh Aruri, credited with establishing the Iz-a-Din Al-Kassam terror group, was taken from his home before dawn.
Israel is clamping down on Hamas activity in Judea and Samaria after the Islamist group took control of the Gaza Strip last week, following days of bloody violence there.
