American aliyah going from drops to a trickle

Never high, the number of North American Jews choosing to leave the US and Canada and make Israel their homeland nonetheless increased by a few drops in 2006, and could grow to a trickle by the end of this year.
If the trend continues that trickle could become a small stream in a few more years. And if antisemitism increases in America, the small stream could swell into a river.
Many Bible-believers anticipate the day when that river will become a flood.
According to figures released by the Jewish agency Thursday, 3,200 Jews moved to Israel and became citizens of the state in 2006 – the highest number since 1983.
That number is expected to increase by between five and 10 percent by December 2007.
Departing Jews have attended farewell ceremonies in Boston, Miami and Rockville, Maryland during June. Three hundred more are expected to participate in a similar event Monday.
God says in the Hebrew Scriptures that He will bring them back to their own land and leave “none of them captive any longer.” (Ezekiel 39:28)
As hard as it is for many American Jews to grasp, they may be living a relatively good life compared to their fellow Jews in Israel, but from the Almighty’s point of view they are in “captivity” and “exile” as long as they do not live in the Promised Land.
