Education ministry succumbs to liberal disease

Israeli Arab children now have the blessing of the country's leftist-controlled Ministry of Education to learn that the 1948 establishment of their country was a terrible catastrophe.

According to a report on the Israel National News website, Education Minister Yuli Tamar has given the green light for Arab schoolchildren in Israel to be taught next year that the founding of the State of Israel was a tragedy (Nakba in Arabic) in accordance with a widespread Arab view of the event.

"The Arab narrative deserves to be told in Israel," Tamir reportedly explained.

Israel's left-wing politicians have a history of working to erode their nation's security out of the belief that they can win peace by making concessions to their enemies.

Tamar reportedly gave in to pressure from Arab Knesset Members [yes, Israeli Arabs can and do also hold this prestigious office-Ed] who insisted they be given their perspective on the situation.

Right thinking Israeli lawmakers slammed the decision calling it "shameful."

Former Education minister Limor Livnat said the curriculum would educate Israeli Arabs to work against Israel.

It was a warning destined to fall on deaf ears.
