Bolton - Failure at Annapolis will set us back

Former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton warned Thursday that failure at Annapolis will not simply leave the Israeli-“Palestinian” conflict at the status quo.
Convening the conference at this time was “a mistake” which “will set us back,” he told reporters in Jerusalem.
The “Palestinian” side is believed to be preparing to ignite another intifada whether the Annapolis conference goes ahead (and implodes, which many see as inevitable) or fails to even take place.
Bolton's position on Annapolis is based on the fact that Israel's government as "internal political difficulties" while the PLO/PA is "broken perhaps beyond repair."
Any attempt to bring about an "unnatural" reconciliation could therefore leave US influence diminished.
