Surprise! ?Palestinians? still back terror

Two new “Palestinian” public opinion polls offered disappointing results for those in the West that believed the death of long-time PLO mass murderer Yasser Arafat would signal a shift in the violent ambitions of the Palestinian Arabs.

According to the survey, a majority of the Arabs under PA rule continue to support the murder of Israel’s Jews, despite the disappearance of their terror-tainted leader, and his replacement by supposed “moderates.”

Between November 13 and 16, following and in light of Arafat’s demise, 632 Palestinian Arabs were asked if they now supported a unilateral cessation of hostilities against Israel’s Jews. A 46.6 percent majority said they opposed such a move.

A week earlier, 552 respondents were asked about their position on the continuation of “suicide” bomb attacks against the backdrop of Arafat’s failing health.

A 46 percent majority said “suicide” bomb attacks targeting Israeli Jews should continue, regardless of Arafat’s absence from the scene. Thirty-eight percent believed “suicide” attacks should be halted, while 16 percent declined to express a opinion.

Nearly 55 percent said they viewed favorably the November 1 “suicide” bomb attack on Tel Aviv’s Carmel Market.

On a similar topic, an overwhelming 72.2 percent of respondents said under no circumstances would the “Palestinians” rescind their demand to flood Israel with Arab “refugees” under the so-called “right of return.”

The survey noted that Israel would never agree to a “Palestinian” right of return, and that refusing to waive that “right” could mean the failure to reach peace.

Turning to American politics, 61.4 percent of “Palestinians” felt the reelection of US President George W. Bush would hamper “peace” efforts.
