Reuters sees Israeli elections 'killing peace process'

The Reuters news agency - which over the years has become increasingly bald-faced in its biased coverage of the Arab-Israeli conflict - saw the news of early Israeli elections as reported this week as dealing a potential death blow to the discredited land-for-peace process.

"An early Israeli election may kill off more than George W. Bush's hopes of a peace deal with Palestinians this year. It could bring a right-wing government hostile to peacemaking by his successor in the White House," wrote staff reporter Adam Entous.

Entous' worst nightmare would apparently be a victory for Likud Party Chairman and former Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu, who froze out terrorism by his demands for "reciprocity" before Israel would move any further ahead in the diplomatic process, has for months been the favorite to win early elections.
