Israeli security minister declares war on Hebron 'settlers'

By Stan Goodenough
November 20, 2008

Israeli Public Security Minister Avi Dichter Thursday vowed to throw 24 Jewish families out of the Hebron house they are living in, ownership of which is disputed by an Arab who allegedly was paid in full for the property but then denied having made the sale.

The Jews would be out within 30 days, Dichter reportedly told Ynetnews.

He issued his threat after thousands of Zionist Israelis vowed to use their bodies to prevent the ouster from the "Peace House."

Israel's security forces would see that a court ruling to evacuate the building was carried out "word for word," the minister said.

Dichter was also reacting to reports alleging the Jews had defaced a mosque and clashed with "Palestinian" residents. Hebron's Jews contend graffiti on a building could have been sprayed by agents provocateur.

The government of which Dichter is a minister is committed to abandoning the nation's historical homeland and has worked to demonize the God-fearing Jews who make their homes in that part of Eretz Yisrael.

That government will be replaced when Israelis go to the polls on February 10.
