'Time running out for my son'

The father of IDF Corporal Gilad Shalit Thursday pleaded with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair to help secure the release of his son who has been held captive by the Hamas terror group in Gaza for nearly 1000 days.
Ha'aretz reports that Noam Shalit told Blair the chance to free Gilad from "his horrible captivity ... may never come again."
Blair, who serves the so-called Quartet of nations in their efforts to wrest the Jews' historical homeland for the creation of a Palestinian state, reportedly pledged to "press Hamas" to release the soldier.
Shalit noted, however, that the Briton "did not give any promises on the matter."
According to Ha'aretz, Gilad Shalit's freedom is being discussed with ever "greater urgency" by the outgoing Israeli government, which wants to see the soldier freed before it finally bows out.
The coming weeks therefore offer a window of opportunity for closing a deal - which requires Israel to pay a high price, the paper said.
That high price is expected to be the release of hundreds of "Palestinian" terrorists.
