America in the Middle East

Clinton heading here

By Stan Goodenough
February 24, 2009

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton plans to arrive in the Middle East in March to kick off her bid to bring peace to the region.

The former first lady, who like many American liberals predicates her often professed "friendship" towards the Jewish state upon Israel's readiness to comply with Washington's wishes, is reportedly hoping to succeed where her numerous predecessors at Foggy Bottom have failed.

According to the Associated Press, her first foray will be a two day visit beginning March 2, during which she will meet with top Israeli officials as well as top terrorists in Arab-occupied Samaria and Judea.

As the top diplomat in the new Obama administration, Clinton is expected to introduce Israeli and PLO players to the rules of the game as it is now to be played.

President Barack Obama has publicly stated that he will be employing a "robust approach" to Arab-Israeli "peace-making" in order to secure Israel's compliance and cooperation with the US-led two-state-solution.

This "solution" has Israel relinquishing for all time its claims to the land of its founding fathers so that another Muslim Arab state can be erected there.

In related developments, Obama's point man for the "Arab-Israeli conflict" George Mitchell is expected to arrive in Israel later this week to begin, among other things, laying the groundwork for Clinton's visit.

Israeli defense officials have expressed their concerns that Mitchell, who is strongly opposed to the existence and strengthening of Jewish communities in Samaria and Judea, and who supports that rapid handing over of security control on those areas to the PLO, will start to turn the screws on Israel to comply as soon as he arrives.

The American is believed to be planning the opening of a permanent office in Jerusalem from where he can direct US efforts, many of which are not in Israel's interest.
