PA still not fighting terror, IDF chief says

Outgoing IDF Chief of Staff Moshe Ya’alon told new recruits Wednesday that the Palestinian Authority was still not taking adequate steps to eliminate the scourge of anti-Jewish terrorism, despite its public promises to do so.
On Tuesday, Brig.-Gen. Yosef Kupperwasser told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that PA forces were preventing some attacks, but at the same time were allowing the terrorist infrastructure to remain intact.
Kupperwasser explained the “Palestinians” continue to view the mass murder of Israeli Jews as legitimate, though not particularly helpful to their cause at present.
Under the terms of the Oslo Accords and Road Map peace plan, the PA is obligated to disarm and dismantle all terrorist organizations operating out of territories under its control.
That is a commitment that has gone unfulfilled for more than a decade, first under Yasser Arafat and now under his successor, Mahmoud Abbas.
