Hizballah: All northern Israel in our sights

Hizballah has over 12,000 missiles deployed throughout southern Lebanon capable of hitting every part of northern Israel, the terrorist organization's leader said during a rally Wednesday.

?All of the north of occupied Palestine [sic], its settlements, airports, seaports, fields, factories and farms is under the feet and hands of the Islamic resistance,? Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah told supporters in the town of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon's the former Israeli-occupied security zone.

His speech marked the fifth anniversary of the IDF's hasty retreat from the area, a move the Arab world views as a victory for Islamic terrorism over Israel.

Despite the ominous deployment of its weapons, Nasrallah said Hizballah had no desire to ?drag the region into a war,? and sought merely to ?protect our country.?

But Israeli defense officials have noted a rise in Hizballah efforts to elicit IDF military responses with minor border infractions in order to justify increasing aggression against northern Israel.

?It should be emphasized that the Hizballah terrorist organization uses these tactics to cause provocations along the Israeli Lebanese border and to provoke the IDF to respond,? read an official statement released by the army after one such incident last week.

Senior army officials reported last month that their intelligence showed Hizballah would soon attempt to instigate a major escalation of hostilities with Israel.

Regarding a UN Security Council resolution passed last September that demanded the disarming of all militias in Lebanon, Nasrallah insisted his group would never lay down its weapons.

?Any hand that reaches out to our weapons is an Israeli hand that will be cut off,? he said.

Hizballah receives the bulk of its financial, military and logistical support from Iran and Syria.
