Uproot Arabs, not Jews, most Israelis say

Contrary to the claims of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, on ongoing survey shows an overwhelming majority of Israelis do not want to see northern Samaria and the Gaza Strip ethnically cleansed of Jews.
Instead, most respondents have voted in favor of annexing all of Judea, Samaria and Gaza (Yesha), and expelling hostile local Arab populations to areas outside the borders of Israel.
Yekutiel Ben Ya'akov, director of Mishalot Yisrael, decided to launch his own nationwide survey earlier in the year, after Israel's Knesset voted against allowing the people to decide on ?disengagement? in an national referendum.
His efforts have been largely ignored by local left-wing and mainstream international media outlets, but WorldNetDaily decided to highlight the independent referendum, which appears more and more to represent the true voice of Israelis on this issue.
Ben Ya'akov explained to WND's Aaron Klein that if Sharon would allow Israel a choice on this most crucial and historic of decisions, the vast majority would not back his current policies.
?We find when actually given another plan, namely the expulsion of Palestinians instead of Jews, most Israelis absolutely want to boot the Palestinians,? he said.
Klein reported that pedestrians at polling stations throughout the country are handed ballot cards by volunteers working for Ben Ya'akov asking whether they ?prefer the 'Sharon/Peres Disengagement Plan,' which includes transferring Gaza and parts of the West Bank to Palestinian control and expulsion of all Jews who live there. Or do you prefer the 'Jewish Alternative Disengagement Plan,' which includes annexing these territories and expulsion of the Arabs living there to an area outside Israel, deep beyond a safe security buffer zone??
The results have been nothing short of staggering.
At a Jerusalem polling station personally monitored by Klein during a three-hour period last week, 807 ballots were filled out. Only nine of the respondents voted in favor of Sharon's plan, while 798 said they preferred retaining Yesha and expelling hostile Arabs.
Ben Ya'akov said the results have consistently shown nearly 90 percent support for the nationalist alternative.
He noted, ?We aren't taking these polls in the heart of so-called nationalist communities in [in Yesha]. Our polling stations are in the busiest sections of major cities, like Jerusalem. We get all kinds of people, religious, secular, old, young, Israeli-born, immigrants ... you name it.?
?We want to get to as many Israelis as we possibly can, and see what the general trend is. And that trend ? to get the Palestinians out ? is hands down what almost everyone tells us they favor,? Ben Ya'akov told WND.
Even recent polls conducted by Israel's major left-wing newspapers show a downward trend in support for Sharon's plan, as Israelis begin to understand that surrendering Gaza and Samaria will happen without ?Palestinian? reciprocity and will likely provide a morale boost for anti-Jewish terrorists.
A poll conducted last Thursday by Yediot Ahronot showed 53 percent of Israelis still support the withdrawal, down from 69 percent in February. Another poll conducted early this week showed a 51 percent majority opposes the pullout if it will be carried out under fire.
