'Children of Arafat' celebrate Israeli retreat

Palestinian Authority-sponsored festivities celebrating the pending ethnic cleansing of all Jews from the Gaza Strip were marked Thursday by more inflammatory remarks by PA Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia.

Last week Qureia told the Palestinian Arabs the internationally-backed ?disengagement? plan was just another step towards ?liberating? Jerusalem from the Jews.

He ratcheted up his rhetoric Thursday, telling thousands of ?Palestinians? gathered in Gaza City that the ?process of national struggle [a euphemism for anti-Jewish terror] will continue until we reach Jerusalem and celebrate there and in the West Bank.?

?We will proceed from one victory to another until we achieve the big victory ? when one of our roses or juveniles will hoist the Palestinian flag on the walls of Jerusalem and its minarets and churches,? Qureia declared.

The prime minister's words closely mirrored those of his late boss, notorious arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat, whose birthday was marked Thursday.

You are ?the children of Yasser Arafat the martyr and the children of [former-Hamas leader] Ahmed Yassin the martyr and the children of all the martyrs,? Qureia invoked over the crowd.

Qureia promised Arafat, as PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas has done on several occasions, that the Palestinian Arabs would ?continue to follow your path... We will continue until victory. None of us will give up until we are on Jerusalem?s soil.?

Arafat's ?path? is now widely recognized, even by those in the West pressuring Israel to negotiate with the PLO, as having remained firmly based on the terrorist murder of Israeli Jews.

A public opinion poll conducted last month revealed a majority of Palestinian Arabs continue to see terrorism as the most effective means of achieving their goals.

The survey by the Center for Opinion Polls and Survey Studies at An-Najah University in Shechem showed a 40 percent majority believed unrelenting Islamic terrorism had brought about Israel's decision to surrender control of the Gaza Strip and northern Samaria and uproot all Jews living there.

The poll also showed that nearly half of all ?Palestinians? wanted to see anti-Jewish violence continue following the Gaza withdrawal in hopes it would lead to further Israeli capitulation.

In his widely-syndicated column published Thursday in the US, veteran writer Cal Thomas warned that Israel was disappearing and, if things were allowed to continue along this path, that the Jewish state would, in the not too distant future, be no more.

?Only after Israel is destroyed,? Thomas wrote, ?will the West realize what it did and failed to do, but it will find convenient and comforting explanations to absolve itself from any blame. Jews, you see, are always responsible not only for the world's problems, but for bringing destruction upon themselves by virtue of their being Jews.?

Thomas warned darkly that, with the implementation of the ?disengagement? plan, ?Israel?s slow disappearance from the region cannot now be reversed.?

We know it can be, and we believe it will be. Thoughts of the price to be paid in Jewish and other blood before it is, however, turn our knees to water.
