PA: Keep your guns and bombs at home

The Palestinian Authority Sunday demanded citizens living under its rule abide by a decision to temporarily stop killing Israeli Jews and displaying the weapons used to do so in public.

Arab officials fear continued terrorist aggression at this point will lend Israel international legitimacy for its mounting anti-terror offensive.

If Israel succeeds in eliminating the threat posed by groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the ?Palestinians? will lose an important component of the diplomacy-terrorism combination they have used for more than a decade to extract Israeli concessions.

In order to prevent that scenario, PA Interior Minister Nasser Youssef at the weekend urged the terrorists to adhere to an eight-month cessation of violence against the Jews, Reuters reported.

Youssef also said that during the coming months, the PA will make every effort to confiscate illegal arms being displayed in public in order that it may appear to be complying with its peace obligations.

However, he reassured the Arabs that the PA ?will not enter Palestinian houses to search for arms.?
