'Palestinians' fire rocket at northern Israel

Confirming widespread fears connected to Israel's withdrawal from northern Samaria, Palestinian Arab terrorists based in Jenin announced Sunday they had for the first time fired a rocket into northern Israel.

The Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades ?military wing? of Mahmoud Abbas' ruling Fatah faction said it launched a Jenin-1 type Kassam rocket at a Jewish community not far from the nearby Jezreel Valley town of Afula overnight.

Jenin is a stronghold for the Brigades, and Abbas even made a campaign visit to popular local terror boss Zachariya Zubeidi prior to last year's Palestinian Authority ?presidential? election.

Before his premature ouster earlier this year, former General Security Services chief Avi Dichter repeatedly warned pulling out of northern Samaria would put Israel's vulnerable central region in grave danger.

As the last Israelis left Gaza in September, security officials said terrorists based there were accelerating efforts to shift the focus of their artillery attacks to Samaria in order to repeat their perceived military victory in the coastal strip.

Terror groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad openly admitted this was their plan.

Meanwhile, the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades Sunday joined Hamas and Islamic Jihad in refusing to extend the current so-called terrorist ?ceasefire.?

All three groups are expected to renew full-scale hostilities against Israeli Jews from the end of December.
