Oslo War death toll tops 1000

By Jerusalem Newswire Editorial Staff
May 13, 2004

Israel’s death toll in the Arab-imposed “Oslo War” quietly topped 1,000 this week with the killing of 11 IDF soldiers during anti-terror operations in the Gaza Strip.

Some 1,004 Israeli civilians and security personnel have lost their lives to “Palestinian” violence since Yasser Arafat’s PLO instigated what the Arabs call the “Al Aqsa Intifada” in September 2000.

More than 6,000 others have been wounded and mutilated, many of who now live with permanent disabilities and deformations.

While almost 3,000 Palestinian Arabs have been killed during the same period, research shows over half of them were engaged in violent acts against Israelis at the time of their deaths.

Mounting death toll

The number of Israelis killed by Palestinian Arabs since September 2000 reached 1,004 on Wednesday with the deaths of five IDF soldiers during a patrol along the Gaza-Egypt border.

More than 6,300 others have been wounded. Many of them will bear the scars, deformities and disabilities resulting from those attacks for the rest of their lives.

These casualties are the results of more than 20,000 “Palestinian” terror attacks in less than four years.

The Palestinian Arabs launched the Oslo War - which they refer to as the “Al Aqsa Intifada” - against Israel after PLO chief Yasser Arafat rejected a comprehensive peace offer by then-Prime Minister Ehud Barak.

Deceiving numbers

During the same period nearly 3,000 “Palestinians” have been killed.

Those numbers, however, require qualification.

More than half of the Palestinian Arabs killed in the conflict with Israel over the past four years have died while engaging in terrorist attacks or violent clashes with IDF soldiers.

Evidence suggests the Palestinian Authority has also added those killed in common traffic accidents and other non-conflict related incidents to the list of “martyrs.”
