?Three Fathers?: Stop tying IDF?s hands

A new protest group is demanding Israel’s High Court stop putting IDF soldiers in undue danger by placing absurd restrictions on anti-terror military operations against the “Palestinians.”
Calling themselves the “Three Fathers” – a play on the leftist “Four Mothers” group that figured prominently in pressuring the Barak government to flee Lebanon – all three founding members had sons who died defending the nation.
And all three want the courts and “human rights” groups to stop tying the army’s hands, resulting in the unnecessary deaths of many of Israel’s finest.
On Thursday the Three Fathers called on High Court justices to resign after they ruled the IDF could not demolish houses used by “Palestinian” snipers in Gaza.
Hands tied
Israel’s High Court habitually issues judgments restricting the ability of the IDF to use, as US Secretary of State Colin Powell would put it, “overwhelming” force in defeating the “Palestinian” terrorist machine.
Those judgments are more often than not the direct result of petitions filed against the IDF by “human rights” groups.
The most recent restriction:the High Court last week forbade the IDF to demolish several houses used by “Palestinian” snipers along the Kissufim route in southern Gaza.
‘Three Fathers’ fights back
Such decisions are unnecessarily endangering the lives of Israel’s soldiers in a ludicrous effort to minimize casualties among “Palestinian” terrorists and their adoring public, said the “Three Fathers” organization.
Baruch Ben-Yossef, Moshe Keinan and Zeharia Komemi – all of who have lost sons in the defense of Israel – started the group in an effort to help untie the army’s hands in the fight against Palestinian Arab terror.
The three carried the message that Israel is sick of its sons having to die in place of Palestinian Arabs because of the leftist justice system’s confused morals.
“We pay for these phony ethics in blood,” the group chanted in front of the High Court in Jerusalem Thursday morning.
The Fathers want the government to forbid the Court from placing future restrictions on IDF anti-terror actions.
“The lives of our sons are far more important than the lives of terrorists,” the group said.
They called on the justices to actually go to Gaza and see what difficulties the soldiers there face in defending the nation – difficulties magnified by the Court’s decisions.
Play on words
The name “Three Fathers” is a play on the leftist group “Four Mothers,” which figured prominently in pressuring the Barak government to retreat from southern Lebanon.
“We want to say the exact opposite of the ‘Four Mothers.’ We think that we are at war, and in war there is an enemy,” Ynet quoted Keinan as saying.
But, Keinan added, “instead of fighting the enemy, we are fighting each other while pardoning the real enemy and declaring him innocent. This is upside-down. If he [Palestinian terror] is innocent, he is not an enemy.”
Four Mothers is now resuming activity in an effort to advance Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s planned withdrawal from Gaza.
