3 injured by Kassam in Sderot

Ongoing 'Palestinian' barrage could end in disaster

Three Israelis were wounded Monday evening as Palestinian Arab terrorists based in the Gaza Strip continued to rain down Kassam rockets and mortar shells on the Negev town of Sderot.

One woman was evacuated with light shrapnel wounds and another two women received treatment for shock after a rocket slammed into a nearby parked car.

At least 18 rockets and mortars landed in and around Sderot Monday.

One hit dangerously close to a local gas station. Police sources told Ynet that had the rocket landed a few meters closer, a major disaster would have ensued.

A day earlier Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz said the "Palestinian" assualt on his hometown and neighboring towns and villages was becoming unbearable, and that Israel would have no choice but to respond harshly if it continued.

"I can't remember such a day in the past. The number of Qassam rockets yesterday is a number that no civil population should and can't tolerate. There is no reason for it to suffer."

"We have conveyed the messages to the Palestinians through international elements. No restraint is infinite. The restraint in the past 24 hours is a restraint aimed at conveying a message. We demand peace and we have the ability to provide must more painful responses."

While Israeli casualties have been miraculously low, the terrorists' near hit on a Sderot gas station Monday made deadly clear to that town's residents that a catastrophe is just around the corner if the rocket fire is allowed to continue.
