Arafat to ?Palestinians?: Terrorize your enemy
By Jerusalem Newswire Editorial Staff
May 16, 2004
PLO chief Yasser Arafat Saturday marked the “catastrophe” of Israel’s rebirth in 1948 by calling on the Palestinian Arabs to “terrorize your enemy.”
A concerted “Palestinian” terrorist effort has already claimed the lives of more than 1,000 Israelis Jews in less than four years.
According to Arafat, the international community had no right to allow the establishment of a Jewish state 56 years ago, and the “Palestinians” would continue their “struggle” for an independent “Palestine.”
That struggle includes the right to flood Israel with millions of “Palestinian refugees,” demographically annihilating the Jewish state.
It was the “sacred and inalienable right” of the “Palestinians” to do just that, insisted Arafat.
The ‘Catastrophe’
Israel’s “peace” partner, the Palestinian Arabs Saturday held their annual commemoration of the rebirth of the Jewish state – an event they refer to as the “Catastrophe.”
Nakba Day brought thousands of “Palestinians” into the streets across Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip in protest against Israel’s very existence.
PLO chief Yasser Arafat took part by giving a venomous televised speech, insisting the international community had no right to allow the Jews to retake control of their ancient homeland in 1948.
‘Terrorize your enemy’
During his tirade against Israel, Arafat quoted a verse from the Koran calling on “Palestinian” Muslims to “find what strength you have to terrorize your enemy and the enemy of Allah.”
More than 1,000 Israelis have already been killed in the Arab-initiated terrorist campaign that began in September 2000. Nearly 6,500 others have been wounded and mutilated.
The “Palestinian” leader’s words were a gross violation of his signed agreements with Israel, which forbid incitement to violence.
Demographic threat
Arafat did suggest his PLO was ready to make peace with Israel, but was adamant that peace must include the right of the Palestinian Arabs to flood the Jewish state with millions of refugees.
Israel has rejected the notion of a “Palestinian right of return,” noting it would lead to the demographic annihilation of the world’s only Jewish state.
But Arafat maintained it was the “sacred and inalienable right” of the Palestinian Arabs to do just that, and attacked efforts by international power brokers to make concessions on this issue.
He was referring to US President George W. Bush’s recent letter to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in which the American appeared to back Israel’s rejection of mass “Palestinian” immigration.
Peace of the brave
As he has consistently over the past decade, Arafat referred to the peace he is offering Israel as the “peace of the brave.”
It is a term often misunderstood in the West, but which holds significant meaning in the Muslim world.
The “peace of the brave” has historically referred to the Prophet Mohammed’s treacherous treaty with the Quraish tribe of Mecca – a treaty he promptly violated once his own forces outmatched his enemy’s.
It has also been used to denote Saladin’s similarly deceitful treaty with the Crusader kingdom centered on Jerusalem. Having gained the upper hand, Saladin broke the treaty and slaughtered his “peace partners.”
