Top Likud officials Sunday mocked Knesset Speaker and senior Kadima Party member Dalia Itzik's call for an emergency unity government as a "political prank."
They said that emergency governments were formed in times of war, not following armed conflicts. They noted the request was nothing more than an effort to save the Kadima-Labor coalition, which is floundering over how to structure the 2007 state budget.
