Israel Thursday decided to lift its air and sea blockade of Lebanon under an agreement that international forces would immediately take up the arms embargo on Hizb'allah.
But the families of two abducted IDF soldiers and the senior army officials objected to the timing of the decision, saying it had left Israel without any real leverage in securing the unconditional release of the two men and ensuring Lebanon fully implements UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
