Washington plans to arm and train Lebanon's army to the tune of $30 million in an effort to bolster the government of Prime Minister Fuad Siniora and counter Hizb'allah.
That decision ignores the fact that Hizb'allah is a part of Siniora's government, is lauded by the nation's president, and seen by the army as a "strategic asset."
Siniora's government has publicly stated that it will not forcibly disarm Hizb'allah.
