A senior Hamas spokesman told Army Radio Tuesday that his group's agreeing to join a unity government with PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction does not signal an end to the conflict with Israel.
Ghazi Hamad said that even though Hamas was open to accepting a "Palestinian" state on lands liberated by Israel in 1967, it would retain the right to "resist" the Jewish state and continue to seek its ultimate demise.
