Israeli officials reacted angrily at the weekend to a speech by Hizb'allah chief Hassan Nasrallah Friday during which the terror boss claimed his group had scored a "divine victory" over Israel during the summer's Lebanon war.
Nasrallah told tens of thousands of supporters in Beirut that Hizb'allah was Lebanon's only true defense, and therefore would never disarm. Hizb'allah, said Nasrallah, still has 20,000 rockets aimed at the Jewish state.
Israeli spokesman Mark Regev said Nasrallah was spitting in the face of the international community, which demanded the disarming of Hizb'allah in the resolution that ended the recent conflict.
However, since then both Beirut and the UN forces stationed in Lebanon have announced they will not force Hizb'allah to lay down its arms.
