PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas plans to ask the US for more weapons ostensibly to combat the rival Hamas organization.
The ongoing violence between Hamas and Abbas' Fatah faction provides the perfect cover for such a request.
However, US arms shipments to Abbas and his Fatah, who Washington claims are "moderates," have a nasty habit of equipping "Palestinian" terrorists for attacks against Israel.
The problem stems from the fact that a very large percentage of Palestinian Authority policemen are also members of Fatah's terrorist wings - the Tanzim and the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade.
